It might start out as a normal walk. A child jumping from puddle to puddle. A mother trying to save her new shoes. A wet dog. A half-eaten banana mysteriously appearing in your pocket. And then, amidst the branches, mud, and chaos… a fox appears, seemingly smiling. Or a duck with a face that has a plan.
That's what happens when you come across Sarah Long 's drawings: everything seems normal, until it isn't.
Sarah lives in Seaford, UK, a place with a beach, cliffs, and probably more seagulls than anyone would like to admit. From there, she creates illustrations that combine tenderness, humor, and colors that look like they came straight out of a fresh pack of markers. Her world is cheerful, quirky, and utterly relatable. Like when your kid shows up in the kitchen with a pot on his head and you look at him and think, "Yeah, champ."
We fell in love with his style a long time ago. With his flightless ducks, which are full of personality. With his family scenes where chaos is perfectly organized. With his way of depicting childhood: with affection, wit, and just the right amount of chaos. So we did what any tasteful underwear brand would do: we proposed a collaboration with him .
And she said yes. And it was a full-blown collaboration. We took her paddleboard designs as a starting point and gave them a 360-degree twist. We infused her already brilliant style with our own essence: we added our little ones on one of the boards, our dog Mora on another, dad and his daughter balancing on an orange paddleboard, and me, the supposed queen of the house, taking a huge dive when I picked up the board for the first time. All the details lead us to know that this is a design by and for La Muda .
The result: a mini-collection where the protagonists are creatures that could have come straight from your living room to the beach.
Ideal for parents and their little ones. Ideal for anyone who knows what it's like to step on a Lego brick at seven in the morning and then have to hold back a scream of rage.
Thank you, Sarah, for lending us a little piece of your sea. We'll provide the swimsuits. You, the magic.
